This Privacy Policy applies to the PDFabric mobile application for Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple App Store).

At PDFabric, we take your privacy extremely seriously. Our core engineering principle is Local-First & Privacy by Design. All document scanning, perspective correction, text recognition (OCR), signature stamping, PDF merging, and compression are executed entirely on your mobile device.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • No Document Content: We do not upload, transmit, view, or store your scanned files, receipts, contracts, signatures, or photos on any remote servers.
  • No Personal Identification: We do not require account creation, logins, emails, phone numbers, or passwords to use the core scanning features.
  • No Ad Trackers: We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs or data brokers.

2. Device Permissions & Why We Need Them

Permission Platform Purpose
Camera Android & iOS Used solely for document capture and real-time edge detection via on-device ML Kit / Vision APIs. Video frames are processed in memory and never saved to the cloud.
Photo Library / Storage Android & iOS Used when you explicitly choose to import photos, stamps, or existing PDF files, and to save exported PDFs to your device downloads folder.

3. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

PDFabric offers optional Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases. All payment transactions are processed directly by:

  • Google Play In-App Billing (for Android users)
  • Apple App Store In-App Purchases (for iOS users)

We never have access to your credit card details, bank information, or billing address.

4. Data Storage & Deletion Policy

All created documents, metadata, and saved signatures are stored exclusively within the sandboxed internal storage of the PDFabric app on your device.

How to delete your data:
You can delete any document at any time inside the app by tapping the Delete icon. Deleting or uninstalling the PDFabric application immediately and permanently wipes 100% of the app's local data from your device.

5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Because PDFabric does not collect, store, sell, or process personal data on external servers, we are fully compliant with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

By downloading or using PDFabric, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the application.

1. License & Usage

PDFabric grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on mobile devices that you own or control, in accordance with the rules set forth by the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

2. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Free Trial: The Annual plan may include a 3-day free trial. If not cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your account will be charged the annual subscription price.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing cycle.
  • Management: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via your Google Play Account Settings (Android) or Apple ID Subscriptions (iOS).
  • Lifetime Purchase: A one-time in-app purchase provides permanent access to all current and future Pro features with no recurring charges.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

PDFabric is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive for maximum accuracy in document scanning and OCR text extraction, we do not warrant that text recognition will be 100% error-free for low-contrast or illegible physical documents.

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new phone?

Open PDFabric, tap the 👑 PRO badge or open PDF Power Tools → Unlock Pro, and tap Restore Purchases in the top right corner. Make sure you are logged into the same Google Play or Apple ID account used for the purchase.

Are my scanned documents stored in the cloud?

No. PDFabric processes and saves 100% of all documents locally on your physical device storage. No files are ever sent to any remote server.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On Android: Open Google Play Store → tap your Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → Select PDFabric → Cancel Subscription.
